By Samantha Latremouille (Clinical Lead)

We are excited to announce that Ubenwa is one of only 35 ventures selected among over 2600 entrants to participate in the MIT Solve 2020-2021 social entrepreneurship program. As a Solver team in the Maternal and Newborn Health Challenge, we were awarded a grant of $10k USD. In addition to this, Ubenwa emerged the winner of other prizes, namely:

These funds will propel us forward in our journey to make clinical-grade infant monitoring widely accessible and drive our mission of saving newborn lives. Our goal is to use the funds to expand our clinical studies, which will drastically increase the speed at which we can collect data, build & refine our algorithms, and deploy a solution. We will also begin hardware design and pilots in the coming weeks and months.

We are excited to have received these recognitions, and more importantly the seed capital to drive our mission of saving newborn lives. MIT Solvers are supported by a great program, network and many more community resources. We cannot wait to dive into this collaboration and learning opportunity.

Keep an eye out for Ubenwa as we push the boundaries of AI and medical technology!
